From the Homeowner....

"When we decided to renovate an older house for the fourth time, we promised ourselves it would be the last time. We really loved the neighborhood from the beginning and we had a short drive to just about everywhere we wanted to go. After completely renovating this house we fell in love with living in a home that felt like it was brand new… and within just a few months we decided this group of neighbors was by far the best we have had of all the places we have lived in the last twelve years. So when we told our family that we were thinking about moving, they told us we had lost our minds.

Funny thing was, I had begun to get the itch again. As an architect, the desire to turn something old into something new is a feeling I can’t escape. Fortunately for that need, my wife is ready to move on as well. Not because she wants to renovate again (she likes living through renovation projects about as much as taking the kids to get shots at the doctor), but because we now have two children and this house is just not quite big enough for the four of us, our dog and all of the family that comes to visit.

Now the only thing we worry about us that we won’t love the next house as much as this one. The floor plan is great for our family, it is great for entertaining, and it lives much larger than its measured 1600SF. We tried very hard to find a place for everything and gave everything a place all its own. We included dozens of custom details unheard of for houses in this range. We did everything possible to make the house feel like a special place. We take pride in the fact that when people come over for the first time they often tell us how much they would love to have a home like ours. I finally got the garage organized and working like it was meant to and the built-in work bench and cabinets have been money. On top of all that, we just recently got the yard where we want it and our new sod is the envy of the neighborhood.

I can honestly say that whoever lives in this house next will truly enjoy the experience and I hope that they are able to stay for a long, long time." -Brett

No Nosy Neighbors...

Since Brett covered everything about the house, I'll tell you about all the wonderful things in our neighborhood. First, we love our neighbors. Its a hard thing to describe but our neighbors are the type of people that care a lot about their neighbors, but they don’t care what their neighbors are doing. Does that make sense? Everyone is willing to lend a hand without constantly being in your business. Its actually a pretty refreshing thing. We also love being so close to Lions Park. The kids can play at the playground and our son (who is 4) loves to watch the different sports that go on all year round. We watch kids football, adult softball, basketball, BMX races on Saturdays in the summer, tennis matches. Its such an active park! As for our location, I can easily get to downtown Raleigh, North Hills Mall, Triangle Town Center or Cameron Village. Its not the first neighborhood you think of for any of those areas but its convenient to all of them! -Erin (she also lives here)

Better design makes your life easier

Instead of using big bulky furniture, this home has a piece of custom designed cabinetry that will amaze you! From the living room side, the lower cabinet door slides open to reveal space for a tv and all your components. The upper cabinets have a built-in wine rack and glass cabinets to show off your nice stuff. You know, the kind of wine glasses and dishes you break out for special occasions. PLUS, the wet bar under the wine rack is a perfect addition to a home that is built for entertaining. Clean lines, better use of space, quality cabinetry and design. Don't settle for anything less. You deserve it.

What do the neighbors think?

"Woodcrest is a great place to live. The neighborhood has some character to it; hills, trees, and the houses are all different. It doesn’t have the stale feel of so many of the developments out there where your street is basically the same as everyone else’s. The best thing about it, though, is probably the location. You’re close to everything. Just a couple minutes from downtown, Cameron Village, North Hills, wherever. There’s easy access to Capital, Wade, or the Beltline. The longer I live here, the more amazed I am at how easy it is to get to so many places." -Jeff S. (a fun neighbor)
